THIS PARAMOTOR FLIGHT PERMIT PROVIDES THE BEACH PROPERTY OWNER'S PERMISSION TO FLY FROM KEANSBURG BEACH.
THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO:
1) MAINTAIN GENERAL SAFETY ON KEANSBURG BEACH
2) SAFEGUARD KEANSBURG BEACH AS A VENUE FROM WHICH TO FLY PARAMOTORS.
WITH THIS UNDERSTANDING, ALL FLIGHT PERMIT HOLDERS MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Paramotor pilots must adhere to and comply with Federal Aviation Regulations Part 103
2. Paramotor pilots must maintain the safety of others on the beach at all times. Aerobatics must be performed at a safe high altitude over the water only. While on the ground or in the air, maintain a safe distance from any individuals on the beach.
3. Paramotor pilots must ensure that beachgoers perceive their flying to be safe and not in any way a danger to them.
4. Paramotor pilots must be respectful, gracious and considerate of others on the beach at all times. (Please understand that paramotor flight from Keansburg beach, with the required permit/consent, is a privilege and not a right.)
5. Flight is not permitted in adverse weather conditions such as in high winds or reduced visibility.
6. Flight is not permitted if the pilot is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
7. Paramotor pilots must maintain their paramotoring flight competency and proficiency and are responsible for ensuring that the beach remains a safe operating environment.
8. The photography of any persons, in areas where there is an expectation of privacy, is prohibited without the prior permission.
9. Flight is only permitted from 30 minutes prior to sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset. Flight during the 30 minutes prior to sunrise and the 30 minutes after sunset must be made using the required strobe lighting.
10. Only five (5) paramotors are allowed in the air at any given time.
11. Ground starting a paramotor (a paramotor that is free standing on the ground) is not allowed. Starting a paramotor is only permitted when the paramotor is on the pilot's back.
12. Paramotor flight training is not permitted.
13. Flight is permitted for recreational purposes only.
14. All paramotor pilot permit holders must actively participate in self-regulation to ensure safe paramotor flying activity at Keansburg beach.
15. Permit holders will receive two permits. Please keep one on your person at all times and one attached to your ground equipment on the beach.
The following BEACH FLYING PROTOCOL must be followed:
(Summer is defined as the time period from Memorial Day to Labor Day every year)
• Always setup in an isolated area away from beachgoers especially in summer.
• During summer, after take-off/launch, climb to 200 ft, remain over water (maintaining engine out options) and exit the area promptly to reduce proximity to beachgoers.
• Keep engine operation on the ground to a minimum … idling for warm-up ~ 2 minutes and full throttle for take-off/launch ~ 1 minute.
• Troubleshooting of engine problems, including multiple lengthy full throttle run ups, are not permitted on the beach.
The permit holder shall defend, save and hold harmless the Keansburg Amusement Park and the Jersey Shore Beach & Boardwalk Company Inc, its officers, agents, committee persons, attorneys and employees against all claims, costs, demands, attorney's fees, losses, death or damage, to persons or property, that may arise as a result of permit holder's negligent performance under these Rules and Regulations, whether direct or indirect.
Any person who fails to comply with these Rules and Regulations and Beach Flying Protocol will be subject to the loss of their flight permit and their privilege to fly from Keansburg beach.
